--Wm. Gates was called to Cedar Rapids last week to attend the funeral of his brother John, who died after an illness of only two weeks. The deceased was a prominent man in that city, where he had lived for thirty years and served as alderman for ten years, and his funeral was attended by the city officers and other organizations in a body.
