From Nevada Representative September 7, 1887

Roland.

....She is dead: Augusta Lien, the loving and beloved daughter, sister, friend, passed to her long home on Sunday last. Perhaps never has sorrow shrouded with thicker gloom the community of Roland than did the news of the death of this estimable young woman; a lady respected and beloved by all who came in contact with her for modesty and the purity of her character; a young woman with more than the average social and moral culture, with a mind richly endowed with all those attributes that give promise a noble and useful life. Her untimely death casts a gloom over every heart, and her kindred mourn her loss with a keenness that none but they can fully know. The funeral was a the west church where an eloquent tribute to her memory was made by Rev. Pederson. BLACKSTONE

Also in the same issue of the paper:

DIED:--At the home of her father, A. T. Lien, at Roland, Iowa, Sunday morning September 4th, 1887, Angus- Lien, aged 25 years and six months.
