DEATH OF THOMAS JONES

Pioneer Resident of Nevada Died on Friday.

Thomas Jones, a pioneer of the community died at the County Home on December 13 and was interred on December 14. He was about 76 years of age and lived in this community for many years, pat of the time on a farm south of this city and later in Nevada. He had had poor eyesight for a number of years and had been more or less of an invalid.

Jones was seriously injured when he was struck down by an automobile on the streets of Nevada in the latter pat of July. He was cared for at the Iowa Sanitarium for some time but was later taken to the new county home on August 6 and had been there since. He never made any material recovery from the injuries and gradually failed until death claimed him.

Jones was first admitted to the county home on February 12, 1917, but after the fire which destroyed the old home, came back to town and lived in his little home north the tracks until he was injured and was unable to care for himself.

Some years ago he was married and leaves two children, one being Mrs. Harry Moore of Cincinnati, Iowa, and the other is an invalid son who is in a state institution. He and his wife had been divorced for a number of years.

He leaves besides the two children, one sister, Mrs. Jack Edwards of this city.
