On Tuesday the 20th inst. Rev. R. A. Ferguson preached the funeral of Mr. James Fields, of Maxwell, who died from injuries received by being thrown from his buggy against wire fence, and dragged until his body was most fearfully lacerated. He was hurt on Saturday, and lived until Monday evening, when death ended his sufferings. The funeral was largely attended. He wan an old and respected citizen of Maxwell.
