From Nevada Representative December 9, 1885
DIED--At her home in Story county, Iowa, Dec. 2nd, 1885, Eva, wife of James M. Thornton, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lhommedieu, of Colo, formerly of Sycamore, Illinois. Eva was born Nov. 21, 1866, was married Oct. 8th 1884. On Sabbath previous to her death in perfect calmness she said: "Death is nothing to me, meet me in Heaven," and with a few kind words to her husband, kissed each of her friends farewell. She has left an infant; also many friends, as was evidenced by the long procession that followed the hearse from the home to the Colo cemetery where the body sleeps, awaiting the resurrection of the just. A lovely flower is taken to bloom in the Paradise of God. It was the privilege of the writer to perform the marriage ceremony, then so soon the solemn funeral service. A. W. G.
