From Nevada Representative September 9, 1885

Obituary.

DIED: At his home in Cambridge, Iowa, Sept. 6, 1885, J. C. Kinsell in the 69th year of his age.

John Kinsell was born in Huntington county, Penn., July 28th, 1817. He removed to Iowa in 1851, and located in Cambridge in 1863 where he resided until his death. His illness was of short duration and until within a few hours of his death was not considered dangerous. His remains were borne to Cambridge cemetery on Sunday, followed by a large number of mourning relatives and friends.

He was a man of more than ordinary ability; was well informed on all subjects pertaining to the duties of a citizen, and always took an interest in and positive position on all questions agitating the public mind. He was an active and consistent temperance man, an enthusiastic friend of education and always faithful in the discharge of any duty to which he was called by his fellow citizens. No enterprise for the advancement of the interests of the community in which he lived ever limited his active support. He was Mayor of Cambridge at the time of death, to which office he was called by his fellow citizens last March. He will be greatly missed in the community where he has lived so long.

A. B. K.
