From Nevada Representative June 10, 1885

Cambridge.

Our town is all in confusion owing to the sad accident which happened here last Saturday. Millard Bullard, son of Rufus Bullard, one of the hardware merchants, was drowned while bathing in the river last Saturday afternoon. Saturday afternoon and Sunday hundreds of eager searches thronged the river banks from the mouth of Ballard creek to the mill dam. At this writing, Tuesday afternoon the body has not been found. Every device that minds quickened to action by excitement and interest could devise has been tried, but to vain. The search still continues. Relatives and friends of the bereaved parents from a distance are here and they too are working....

From Nevada Representative June 17, 1885
