--Elmer E. Firth, a young Marshalltown man of good reputation, fell in with bad company Friday night and went on a spree. About midnight while looking for worse company, he blundered into the house of Jacob Seybert and had his head split with an axe. He died Monday.*
*SUMBITTER'S NOTE: Elmer E. Firth died on 12 April 1885 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa and is buried there.
