From Nevada Representative December 3, 1884
Mrs. Sarah Putnam, relict of Daniel Putnam, and stepmother of Mrs. E. W. Lockwood of Nevada, died at her home in Marshalltown yesterday mornings after an illness of two or three weeks. Her remains were brought to Nevada on the eleven o'clock train to day, and placed in the cemetery beside those of her late husband. Grandma Putnam has lived to see more than ninety years, and to sit at table with four generations. Her only son is past seventy five. Though so long past the age allotted, she had retained her faculties to a remarkable degree, and then able to enjoy life and the companionship of friends. She was a member of the Methodist church and will long be pleasantly remembered by those who knew her in Nevada.
