From Nevada Representative September 17, 1884

Mr. F. S. Bishop received, Saturday, a telegram from California announcing the death of his father. The sad event took place last Thursday and was not wholly unexpected. Until his removal to California about three years ago, Mr. Bishop was an old and honored resident of Nevada; and his many friends and acquaintances here will sorrow at his decease.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Umphra Hine Bishop was the father of Frank S. Bishop and Amos DeWitt Bishop who lived in Nevada, Story County, Iowa according to the 1880 census, along with both their parents.
