Story City.

....Mr. D. Garris and Mrs. J. Garris from Edenville were here over Sunday attending the burial services of little Katie Swartout. Katie was about 1 1/2 years old but will not grow older in this world. She has taken her abode with Him who said "suffer little children to come unto me." The burial was attended by many people, who truly sympathized with the parents*....

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Katie Swartout was the daughter of Melvin L. Swartout and Maude Garis/Garris. "Mrs. J. Garris" in the article is no doubt Maude (Garis) Swartout's mother, Susannah (Minsinger) Garis, wife of Joseph Garis... thus "Mrs. J. Garris."
