Mr. Andrew Sampson, a Norwegian farmer living about 1/2 miles southwest of this place ws killed by lightning las Saturday afternoon. he was cultivating corn for one of his neighbors, when a thunder shower came up and he and Mr. Christofferson, the man he worked for, went to the stable to seek shelter from the rath. It did not rain much and the men soon went out again, and just as Mr. Sampson was going through the wire fence he was struck. Mr. C. was stunned and the horses knocked down, but soon recovered, without any serious injury. Two small boys, who followed close behind Mr. S., were not hurt at all. They say that Mr. S. breathed had for a few times after he full, but when Mr. C. came to him, there were no signs of life. He was buried Sunday, and leaves a widow and children in fair circumstances.
