Richard Stevens, landlord at Jewell Junction, was found by the railroad tracks early Wednesday morning with his head completely severed from his body. He had got up and gone to the depot to look after custom and was discovered by the conductor of the next train. This is about all that is known about his death. The suspicion of foul play is strengthened by the fact that his life was insured for over $20,000.
