From Nevada Representative March 5, 1884

Obituary.

The health of Geo. W. Zwilling, the subject of this notice, not good for a year or two past, began rapidly to fail during the latter part of the past summer. In the hope of at least checking the progress of the dead diseased, consumption, with which he was afflicted, he wpent November and December in Southern Texas. But away from family and friends, the more genial clime was powerless to give relief, and early in January he returned to die among his kindred at home. His strength rapidly failed, and Friday morning, February 29th, "watched by eyes that loved him" he breathed his last. His funeral services were conducted, at his late residence, Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and fellow citizens. The burial rites at the grave were performed by the Masons, United Workmen, and Legion of Honor, of which orders the deceased was an honored member. He leaves a wife and little son, and numerous other relatives to mourn his early death.

Mr. Zwilling possess many of those qualities of heart and head that tie at the foundation of true manhood. He was affectionate and kind in his home, appreciative of acts of kindness toward him, generous in heart, upright in his business transactions, public spirited, intelligent, companionable, thoughtful of the material welfare of those nearest and dearest to him, and brave and trustful while slowly passing through the valley of the shadow of death. He will belong and kindly remembered by the people of this community, and the little household left behind, invested with their heartfelt sympathy.
