From Nevada Representative December 12, 1883
James Pulver of Boone, a conductor on the Northwestern was killed at Ames, Saturday afternoon. He slipped and fell while pulling a pin. His neck was broken and he was wedged under the trucks so that it was necessary to lift the car with jack screws to get him out. He had been on the road for many years and was deservedly popular.
