Monday morning Mr. J. Q. Leffingwell received a telegram announcing the death of his daughter, Mrs. Alice Sloan of Athens, Ohio. Mrs. Sloan will be pleasantly remembered by many of our people as a pupil in the earlier history of our public schools and a successful teacher in our county schools. She passed away after a year or more of suffering from that dread disease, consumption. Mr. Leffingwell and family have the sympathy of their fellow citizens in this their time of sorrow.
