Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Marianne Jo Gandrup was born January 22, 1928 to Lyle and Ina (Christiansen) McDonald in Hamilton County, Iowa. Marianne and Wallace Bradley Gandrup were married on December 10, 1946 in Jewell. Marianne and Wallace owned and operated the Gandrup Drug Store in Story City. She also worked for a time at the Story City Municipal Golf Course.

Marianne was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City, PEO, and the Story City Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, dog-sitting, golfing, senior dinners, and going to Prairie Meadows. She loved attending her grandchildren's activities and rarely missed an event. Marianne always put other people first and affected many lives in a quiet, loving way. Marianne was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marianne went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 29, 2015 at Bethany Life in Story City at 87 years of age.

Marianne is survived by her daughters, Angela (Terry) Yocum of Liscomb and Gayla Thompson of rural Story City; four grandchildren, Marnie (Frank) DuChane, Damond Nelson, Jenscie (Jacob) Sheahan, Bryttan (Ali) Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Kendra, Ryland, Amanda DuChane and her sister, LaRita Sickenger of Albert Lea, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace Gandrup on February 9, 1995; her son-in-law, Bryan Thompson; and her sister, Charlotte Baker.
