William A. Bowman died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. S. McCord in Collins township, January 9, his funeral was conducted at the Dalton church by Rev. C. E. Burton on the 11th and interment was in the cemetery at Zearing. His age was seventy-two. He came from Somerset county, Pennsylvania to Linn county, Iowa, in 1857 and to Story county soon after. His wife and three children preceded him to the spirit land, and five children Mrs. Nora Reese of Zearing being residents of this vicinity.
