Former resident of Slater died

A former resident of Slater who had been living at Bethany Manor in Story City, Mrs. Anna Skortman, 85, died Wednesday at the Manor at approximately. Funeral services for Mrs. Skortman will be held from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W. A. Adix officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Riis Funeral Home is in charge. She is survived by three sons: Kermode Nelson of Slater, Lawrence Skortman of Compton, Calif, and Charles Skortman of Englewood, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Lyle Pierce of Portland, Ore., and a brother, Elmer Nelson, North Hollywood, Calif., eight grandchildren and II great - grandchildren.
