From Nevada Representative April 13, 1904

L. A. (sic) Brown one of our old settlers died last Friday morning at 7 o'clock aged 73 years 5 months and 21 days. He was born in Sandusky county, Ohio. He came to Polk county, Iowa, in 1856 and has since lived in Polk and Story counties. The funeral was held Sunday at one o'clock in the U. B. church Rev. R. E. Graves officiating. Interment took place in the White Oak cemetery. His wife, one son and two daughters are left to mourn his departure.
