THELMA ILLINGWORTH
Thelma Illingworth, 76 of Albia, formerly of Nevada, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 1983 at the Monroe County Health Care Center.
Funeral services were held Wednesday Aug. 10 at the First Christian Church in Albia with Rev. David Stout officiating. Burial was at the Oak View Cemetery.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1906 to Loren and Mamie Frye Lowe. She was married to Merle Illingworth, Sr., on Nov. 15, 1924. She and her husband operated a bakery in Albia. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine and the Albia Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Merle Illingworth, Jr. of Albia and Jack Illingworth of Grand Junction, Colo.; one daughter, Virginia Crabbe of Clear Lake; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Lowe of Marshalltown; and one sister, Maxine Van Hook of Ontario, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald, and two brothers, Frank and Harlan.
