Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Michael Edward Thompson 56, of Ames, passed away August 16, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday August 23, at Adams Funeral Home.

Michael was born February 18, 1959 in Souix City, Iowa and was adopted by Edward and Roberta (Hade) Thompson. Michael served in the U. S. Army and was a Veteran of Desert Storm. Michael enjoyed building model airplanes and spending time with his family.

Michael is survived by his wife, Dorri of Ames; one step son, Brian Robinson of Des Moines; one step daughter, Amanda Robinson of Ames; two step granddaughters, Brieanna and MacKenzie Robinson; one step grandson, Jacob Robinson; one sister Lori Thompson and his best friend of 40 years Ben Boecker.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Joshua Thompson.
