COLO REPRESENTATIVE

Mrs. William Kneil passed away Wednesday afternoon at St. Thomas hospital in Marshalltown where she underwent an operation for cancer a couple of days before. The Kneil family moved from Illinois on to D. E. Lhommedieu's farm south east of town a few years ago, where they have lived ever since. They have made many friends since coming here and all sincerely sympathize with the bereaved husband and daughter. Funeral services will held in the U. E. church Saturday at 1 p. m. conducted by Rev. McKinley. Interment will be made in the Colo cemetery.

Mrs. Wm. Kneil

Harriet Elizabeth Rice was born March 5, 1880 at Halltown, Illinois where she grew to womanhood. When quite young she united with the Congregational church at Depue, Ill., retaining her membership ther ethe rest of her life. She was united in marriage to Mr. Wm. Kneil, Feb. 25, 18. [sic] Two children were born to them, a son who died in infancy and a daughter. The Kneil family moved from Illinois a few years ago, onto a farm southeast of town which is still the family home. Mrs. Kneil has not been well for about two years and for about two months she grew steadily worse suffering greatly at times. March 2, 1917, she underwent an operation for cancer at St. Thomas hospital in Marshalltown and on the following Wednesday toward evening she passed away. She was faithful, loving wife and mother, a true friend and a kind neighbor who will be greatly missed not only in he home but in the entire community. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and daughter (Florence Mildred), her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Rice of Seatonville, Ill., and one brother (Willis Rice) of Depue, Ill., besides many other relatives and host of friends. Funeral services were held in the U. E. church at 1 o'clock Saturday p. m. conducted by Rev. W. C. McKinley, who chose for his text--Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. Rev. 14:13. Interment was made in the Colo cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community.
