Obituary for Judy Mae Freel
Judy Freel, 66, of Slater, passed away at her home, Friday, June 12, 2015.
Judy was born November 12, 1948 at Ames, Iowa, the daughter of James and Illa Jean (Durby) Freel. She graduated from Ames High School in 1966. Judy had worked as a silk screen printer for many years for Collegiate Pacific and Campus Park Sportswear in Huxley. She also worked for General Financial Supply in Nevada before her health forced her to retire. She was baptized at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading and traveling. Judy loved being with family, especially her nieces and nephews, and loved seeing her great nieces and great nephews.
Judy is survived by three brothers: James (Roxanne) Freel of Nevada, Iowa, Rodney Griffith of Oman, Marion James Griffith of Dewitt, Missouri; two sisters: Jean Williams and Elsie Roberts, both of Missouri; her best friends: Kenny and Gloria Sampson of Slater, Iowa; many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Henry Griffith.
Visitation will be 4-6 pm Friday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Graveside services and inurnment will 6:30 PM Friday at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
