Mrs. J. P. Booher, age 65, died at her home here at 921 Seventh street Sunday morning at approximately 7 o'clock.
Mrs. Booher had recently been quite ill with influenza but had apparently recovered and for the past couple of weeks had been in normal health. Her husband, sleeping in a downstairs room, arose Sunday morning and when Mrs. Booher did not awaken at her usual hour, he investigated and found she had passed away in her sleep. The attending physician stated that death occurred about 7 o'clock in the morning.
Mrs. Booher was born in Cherry Run, West Virginia, where she lived a good share of her early life. She was first married to John Briley who passed away at Lone Rock, Iowa, January 2, 1909. She later married J. P. Booher in Prairie City on July 11, 1919. They moved to Nevada this same year where Mr. Booher engaged in the well-drilling business. They have made their home in Nevada ever since.
Besides her husband, J. P. Booher, she is survived by four children by her first marriage and five stepchildren, twenty-two grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
One daughter, Ruby (Mrs. Earl Richards), preceded her mother in death on July 4, 1945, Warsaw, Missouri.
Her surviving children are, Mrs. Earl Shalley of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. N. D. Graves of Kearney, Neb.; and Joseph C. Briley of Nevada, Iowa.
Stepchildren surviving are Wm. Booher of Nevada; Mrs. Adrian Polomo of Lacota, Iowa; and Mrs. Joe Ness of Sioux City.
Funeral services with Rev. Tarr officiating, will be held in the Nevada Evangelical church, 10 a. m. Tuesday, February 12, after which the funeral party will go to Burt, Iowa, where she will be buried by the side of her first husband.
