Harvey Lee Bogenrief, 91, passed away on Friday March 13, 2015, at Israel Hospice House. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.Harvey was born March 3, 1924, to Oliver and Lena (Behrens) Bogenrief in Avoca, Neb. Harvey married Phyllis (Lamb) Bogenrief on Nov. 23, 1948. Harvey lived in the Iowa City and Ames area. Harvey was blessed with six boys. Harvey was in the U.S. Army for 38 Years. Once Harvey retired, he loved to spend time fishing and spending time with his family and friends.Harvey is survived by his wife, Phyllis; and six sons, Brad (Mary) Bogenrief, of Branson, Mo., Rodney (Shirley) Bogenrief, of Lafayette; La., Doug (Victoria) Bogenrief, of Wichita Falls, Texas, Eric (Julie) Bogenrief, of Branson, Mo., Mark, of Ames, and Matt (Terri) Bogenrief, of Ames.Harvey had 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister-in-law; and one great-grandchild.
