Ronald Wayne Tesdall
January 28, 1950 - April 23, 2015
ObituaryRonald Tesdall, 65, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Iowa Methodist Hospital after a sudden heart attack.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday at the church.
Ronald Wayne Tesdall was born on January 28, 1950, in Boone, Iowa, to DeWayne and Debra (Anderson) Tesdall. He grew up in Ames and graduated in the class of 1968. Following graduation, Ron continued his education and earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Iowa.
Ron made a career as a Master Electrician and owned and operated Story Electric Contractors until his retirement. He also proudly served as past chairman of the Ames Electrical Board.Ron was an outdoorsman who liked fishing, hunting, and gardening, growing many tomatoes. He was also an avid fan of Iowa Hawkeye football and the TV show Pawn Stars. He also enjoyed his cats, weather watching, home improvement projects, and was a connoisseur of fine craft beverages. Most of all, Ron loved spending time with his entire family who all held a special place in his heart.
Survivors include the love of his life, Lana Ohlsen, and her daughter, Katie Avise and grandson, Dylan; children, Ryan (Jessica) Tesdall , Dawn (Matt) Hemesath, and Erik (Michelle) Tesdall; father, DeWayne Tesdall; grandchildren, Jackson, Nicholas, Camden, and Alessandra; first wife, Marty Tesdall; and siblings, Valerie McClimon, Doran Tesdall, Colin Tesdall, and Joel Tesdall. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Tesdall; uncles, Monte, Paul, and Larry Anderson; and grandparents, Lawrence and Rose Tesdall, Carl and Gladys Morrison, and William and Ruby Anderson
