Eric Bruce Overland “EBO” 52, of Nevada, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Eric was born July 28, 1962, in Ames to Donald and Sandy (Lewis) Overland. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1980 and served six years in the United States Navy as a Sonar Tech. Eric was united in marriage to Kathy Reeves on December 13, 2002, and had been working for Mid-States Steel in Boone. He enjoyed football and golf and working on his house.

Eric is survived by his wife, Kathy of Nevada; his parents, Donald (Sandy) Overland of Nevada; his step-children: Dallas (Melissa) Paris of Coulter, Danny (Miranda) Paris of Bonner Springs, KS and Joseph Bown of Marshalltown; his sister, Jody Overland of Ames; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one nephew Nick Stead of Ames. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Eric.
