MRS. J. H. CLEVERLY DEAD AT MAXWELL

WELL KNOWN WOMAN PASSED AWAY AT LUTHERAN HOSPITAL TODAY.

Special to the Journal.

Maxwell, Oct. 1--Mrs. J. H. Cleverly, 52, wife of a well-known farmer and stockman of this part of the county, died at the Iowa Lutheran hospital Des Moines, at an early hour today and was brought to the home in this city.

Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church in Maxwell Sunday afternoon at 2:30, after which the remains will be interred in the local cemetery.

She laves besides her husband, seven of the eight children born to them, as well as many other relatives and a wide circle of friends. One daughter, Opal died about 8 years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Cleverly have each been prominent in farm bureau work of the county and other activities of a public nature, and have a wide acquaintance.

They had lived on a farm near Maxwell until a few years ago when they retired and moved into Maxwell where they have since lived.
