ARTHUR DEAN DIED THIS FORENOON

NEVADA SHOCKED BY NEWS OF DEATH OF WELL KNOWN CITIZEN

Arthur Dean, well known citizen of Nevada, died this morning at Rochester, Minn., according to word received in Nevada this forenoon.

The body will reach here this evening over the Rock Island at 11:42 and be taken directly to the home. No arrangements have been made for the funeral services.

Mr. Dean went to Rochester a week ago, accompanied by his daughter, Miss Caroline, to go through the Mayo clinic with the prospects of submitting to an operation for gall stones and other complications.

Word reached there the latter part of the week that he had collapsed while going through the clinic on Friday and that he was gradually growing weaker and probably would not be able to submit to the operation.

His son,m George Dean and wife went up on Friday afternoon and they, with the daughter were with him to the end.

Mr. Dean has been a resident of Nevada for a quarter of a century and is a well known landowner of the east part of the county.

Mrs. Dean died a few years ago since which time Mr. Dean had spent more or less of his time in travel.

He was prominent in the affairs of Memorial Lutheran church and was also a member of the Masonic, Odd Fellow, Knights of Pythias and possibly other lodges.
