Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Trevor Arlen Thom was born on May 17, 1985 in Des Moines, Iowa. Trevor served in the U.S. Air Force from 2003 to 2009. He was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician. Trevor served 3 tours of duty, including being stationed near Bagdad, Iraq, where he performed his EOD duties. After completing his military service, he returned to Ames and attended Iowa State University. Trevor enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends. He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, target shooting and tailgating with his family at Iowa State football games. Trevor especially enjoyed spending time with his bulldog, Kirra.

Trevor passed away at 29 years of age on October 29, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Trevor had been a patient at Mercy since October 2.

Trevor is survived by his parents, Andrew and Lisa; his sister, Trisha Hasty; his brother-in-law, Forrest Hasty; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Tweedt and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Trevor was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Phil and Catherine Thom and his maternal grandfather, Arlen Tweedt.
