Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Kenneth Gene Spear was born April 24, 1935 to Virgil Allison and B. Irene (Rhoades) Spear in Melcher, Iowa. Kenneth served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1958. He worked as a security guard and enjoyed walking and socializing at Hy-Vee.

Kenneth passed away at 79 years of age on September 27, 2014 at Mary Greeley Israel Family Hospice House.

Kenneth is survived by two brothers, Wayne (Ethel) Spear and Larry (Mary) Spear, all of Ames; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gerald and Helen Spear; and one sister, Virginia Stickley Ross.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Mary Greeley Israel Family Hospice House or First United Methodist Church in Ames.
