Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Gary Robert Burnett was born September 18, 1938 to Ross and Evelyn (Lacey) Burnett in Webster City, Iowa. Gary worked at Alliant Energy for 32 year and at the Iowa Utility Board for 10 years. He was a member of Kamrar United Methodist Church.

Gary passed away at 76 years of age on September 25 at Riverside North in Ames.

Gary is survived by his wife, Katherine J. Burnett, of Ames; his son, Jeff (Cindy) Burnett, of Sherburn, Minnesota; his daughter, Joyce Peter, of Nevada; four grandchildren, Matt Burnett and his children, Xander, Kollin and Elizabeth of Sherburn, Chris Burnett, of Sherburn, Vanna (Terence) Beaston and their children, Tava and Tenley, of Nevada and David Peter, of Roland; his brothers, Ron (Lynn) Burnett, of Davenport, Washington, Russ (Karen) Burnett, of Ida Grove and Dan (Rena) Burnett, of Milton, Florida; and four grandchildren of the heart, Jayden, Kassie, Abbie and Grace Morrison, of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Cindy, and her husband, Jerry Ruhl; his son-in-law, Kyle D. Peter; his granddaughter, Ashley Burnett; and a nephew, Aaron Burnett.
