Died, at the home east of Nevada of her son, Chas. R. Carr, Tuesday, December 24, 1901, Mrs. Mary Jane Carr, aged 73 years.

Mary Jane McKim was born in Ohio in 1828, being one of nine children; was married there in 1845 to J. G. Carr, and with him came to Iowa in 1856; resided in Nevada for a short time but had recently with her husband made their home with their married daughter at Newton, Kansas; came to Nevada in September last to spend a few months with her son here; was then in very poor health and did not improve; was critically ill for only a few days and died as stated above. She leaves her husband and daughter in Kansas. Owing to old age and ill health her husband and absent children were unable to attend the funeral, which was conducted Thursday by Rev. W. H. Sandford. She was buried in the Nevada cemetery.
