From Nevada Representative September 3, 1902

--Squire George McGibbon of New Albany township died Wednesday, August 27, 1902, at his home south of Colo, aged 66 years, 2 months and 4 days. The decreased was born in Delaware county, New York, June 23, 1836, grew up there and while a young man moved to Wisconsin and thence to Cedar county, Iowa. There he was married March 16, 1865, to Miss Cornelia Benson; and in 1869 he moved to Story county ans settled on a farm in New Albany township, where he has ever since resided. He leaves besides this widow, their only son, Charles A. and family and a foster daughter, Mrs. Will Thornton, and family. Mr. McGibbon died of cancer of the stomach, with which he suffered greatly for about three months. His funeral was conducted Friday at the Methodist church in Colo by Rev. Caldwell. Squire McGibbon was one of the sturdy and well known men of his section of the county. He was justice of the peace for many years and was always and highly respected and esteemed by his acquaintances and neighbors. His death causes much regret.
