John A. Betts
December 10, 1902 - May 7, 1991

John A. Betts, 81, 1420 Second Street, Nevada, died Tuesday of heart failure at the Story County Acute Care Facility, Nevada. Services will be held Friday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m., at the Seventh Day Adventist Church School, Nevada, with burial in the Nevada Cemetery.

John Betts was born in Harlan, Kansas to John and Mattie (Counsil) Betts. He lived in Osceola and in the Nevada area for the past 45 years. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church School, Nevada. On August 30, 1932, he married Rosabell Helms.

Survivors include his wife, Rosabell; two daughters, Rosealea Friestad of Winner, South Dakota, and Ruth Seger of Falls City, Washington; one brother, Andrew Betts of St. Joseph, Missouri; four sisters, Ida Lyon of Denver Colorado, Minnie Campbell of Union Gap, Washington, Roma Schneiter of Salem, Oregon and Mollie Stevens of Chula Vista California and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be held Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
