Thomas McLaury, 61, dies in Ames Saturday, Oct. 16
NEVADA -- Thomas Hurley McLaury, 61, of 811 11th St., died Saturday night, Oct 16 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames following a short illness.
Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Rev. Marvin Hulse will officiate with burial in the Nevada Cemetery. A memorial fund to the Cancer Fund has been established.
Born Oct. 12, 1915 in Clearfield to Geroge and Ethel McLaury, McLaury married Dorothy Hilleman in 1939. They have resided in Nevada since 1948. During his life, McLaury was employed as a watchmaker and operating engineer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the V.F.W. and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Crowell of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren; one brother, Ralph of St. Joseph, Mo. and two sisters, Gracia McLaury of Bedford and Anna Hofmeister of Mt. Ayr.
