CHARLES CURTIS MEACHAM

Charles Curtis Meacham, 79, of 911 12th St., Nevada, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, 1985, at Oak Park Care Center where he had been the past month. Death was due to cancer.

Mr. Meacham was born July 16, 1905, at Linden, Ia., to Edward E. and Alice (Lewis) Meacham. He graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1925.

He was married to Winifred Taylor at Carroll, Ia., June 15, 1933.

Charles and Winifred operated a produce store in Adair and Casey before moving to Nevada in 1981. Mr. Meacham was office manager for the Nevada Poutry Co. until it closed in 1982 and he retired at that time.

He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Nevada. He was past master of the Masonic Lodge and past patron of the Eastern Star in Casey. He became a member of the Nevada Masonic Lodge in 1951.

Survivors include Mrs. Meacham; three brothers, Frank and Tracy Meacham of Perry and Fred Meacham of Linden, Ia.; ten nieces and eight nephews, 17 great nieces and 21 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Masonic services were held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada with Rev. Keith Orr officiating. Interment was in Nevada Cemetery.
