July 19, 1903-Oct 20, 2002Lyda B. Ball, 99, of Independence, died on Sunday, Oct. 20, at peoples Long Term Care in Independence following a short illness. Her body was cremated and committal services will be held at a later date in the Nevada Cemetery.
Obituary
Lyda B. Bell was born on July 19, 1903, in Cambridge to David S. and Alena Jacobson Beckley. She married William Franklin Ball on April 26, 1965, in Nevada. Before retiring, she was a clerk at Ben Franklin. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nevada and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a stepson, Russell (and Mary) Ball of Sterling, Alaska; a stepdaughter, Ella (and Malcolm) Risk of Independence; five step grandchildren; three nephews, and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six sisters and one brother.
White Funeral Home of Independence was in charge of arrangements.
