JAMES W. HYNES
James W. Hynes, 70, of Nevada died Monday, July 18, 1984 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. he was born Jan. 30, 1914 in Nevada to Nona Handsaker and James W. Hynes. He attended Shipley High School.
On Dec. 8, 1938 he married Irene Lehmeier in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Ia. They were lifetime residents in Story County, where James farmed south of Nevada for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Nevada United Methodist Church and was active as a 4-H leader for several years and was also an active member in the Indian Creek Izaak Walton League.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; two sons, Larry and his wife, Helen of Mexico, Mo. and John and his wife, Marsha of Ft. Dodge, Ia.; one daughter, Jolene Hynes of Nevada and five grandchildren, Fred, Valerie, Jason, James and Jenelle.
he was preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Sandra and Linda.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 1984 at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Ernest Larson officiating. Interment was in Nevada Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
