Mary Augusta McIntosh
Oct. 9, 1909-Oct. 3, 1995

Mary Augusta McIntoch, 85, of Ames, died of heart failure at her home in Ames. Private graveside services will be in the Nevada Cemetery, with the Rev. Mike Bremer of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Nevada, officiating.

Mary Augusta Gillian was born in Oskaloosa to Franklin O. and Mattie (Nicola) Gillian. She married Grant A. McIntosh on May 20, 1936, in Nevada. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1978. Mrs. McIntosh had previously lived in Ottumwa and Nevada.

A graduate of Oak Park Academy, Mrs. McIntosh worked a registered nurse until the birth of her children. She had been a homemaker since then. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventis Church in Nevada.

Mrs. McIntosh is survived by one son, Thomas G. McIntosh of Ames; two daughters, Ann Bruce of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Sandra Knudson of Humboldt; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by her husband.

Visitation will be today, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, with the family present.
