Joseph Michael Louis, age 21, of Ames, Iowa died of an accidental fall on May 24, 2014. A gathering of friends and family will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at First Evangelical Free Church, 2008 24th Street, Ames, Iowa. Followed with a 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, celebration of life service at First Evangelical Free Church.

Joe was born August 7, 1992 in Ames, Iowa the son of Patty Neubauer and Michael Louis. He attended Nevada Schools until his sophomore year when he transferred to Ames High School and graduated in 2011. Joe worked as a tow man with his dad at Mike Louis Body and Paint and other temporary employment opportunities. He was able to make the best out of any situation. He enjoyed drawing, carpentry, cooking, gardening and time on his Harley with Melissa. He loved his family and his two dogs Dozer and Sugar.

Joe left behind his fiancée Melissa Gillen and baby to be Maddison Renee Louis, his mother Patty Neubauer and step father, Kevin Bourke, his father Michael Louis and step mother, Jana Taylor, sister, Megan Louis, brother in law Shaun Strader and nephew Jadden Strader, step sisters, Mackenzie, Mollie and Anna Bourke, step brother, Travis Taylor and fiancée Courtney Yeazel, paternal grandfather, Joseph Louis and maternal grandmother, Mildred Pingle, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joyce Louis, his maternal grandfather, Harold Neubauer, maternal step grandmother, Shirley Neubauer, and step grandfather, Robert Pingle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for Maddison Louis, Joe's unborn daughter.
