Lorenda Lou Flatt was born December 20, 1936 to Samuel and Lorena (Brinkley) Stipe in San Jose, California. She married Ronald Flatt on August 16, 1958 in California. He passed away January 26, 1984.
Lorenda was active in her church. She spent many years serving in Primary (the children's program at church) and making meals for the monthly missionary conferences. Lorenda was a mother to many and family and friends knew her as Lou. As a youth in California she was active in 4-H. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. In recent years, she loved to take the family to "The Big House" at Bugbee Hive Resort on Lake Koronis near Paynesville, Minnesota. Lorenda also liked to scrap book, sew and do crafts of any kind.
Lorenda died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 77 years of age.
Lorenda is survived by two sons, Robert (Elizabeth) Flatt, of Austin, Minnesota, and David (Cori) Flatt, of Cincinnati, Ohio; four daughters, Linda (Chad) Acuff, of Ames, Laura (Erick) Johnson, of Ogden, Tricia (Andrew) Jones, of Cook, Minnesota, and Deborah (Paul) Ackerson, of Waverly; fifteen grandchildren, Holly and Tracy (Shelby) Flatt, Wyatt and Candace Acuff, Olivia, Madeleine, Rhett, Sophia, and Hiram Johnson, Grayson Flatt, Parker and Taylor Jones, and Lincoln, Oliver, and Amelia Ackerson; two brothers, Walter (Joyce) Stipe and Lawrence (Marilyn) Stipe; and one brother-in-law, Charles Larke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Marilyn Larke.
