F. Menzel Dies

NEVADA - Frank H. Menzel, 82, 628 14th St. Pl., a native of McCallsburg, died Tuesday afternoon at the Story County Hospital here. He had been a hospital patient for the past five months and was in failing health for two years.

He was born in McCallsburg on Aug. 11, 1887, a son of Charles and Anna Menzel. On July 15, 1911, he was married to Louise Rierson and the couple lived on a farm in Milford Township for more than 50 years until they moved to Nevada.

Mr. Menzel was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church and was a school board member of the Milford School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Louise; one daughter, Mrs. Duncan Irish of Nevada; three grandchildren; one great grandson; two brothers, Earl Menzel of Zearing and Lester Menzel of McCallsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Marsh and Mrs. Bertha Stevenson, both of Nevada.
