Dies of gunshot wounds

Earl H. Miller, 56, Nevada, died at 3 a.m. today at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines, of self-inflicted wounds from a .22 caliber rifle, according to authorities.

Miller was found by his wife, Ruth, at their home Tuesday when she returned home from work, according to Story County sheriff's department. Mrs. Miller called the sheriff's department and Miller was taken to Story County Hospital and transferred to Des Moines.

Miller was an employed as a carpenter by James Thompson and Sons, Ames. Mrs. Miller is office manager for the law firm of Nelson, Vasey and Cahill, Nevada.
