Rites set for Arthur Farthing

Arthur Stanley Farthing, 64, Nevada, died about 9:55 a.m. Friday at Mary Greeley Hospital after an illness of about two and one-half years.

Born in Leyton, England, he had been a resident of Story County for over 26 years.

Mr. Farthing had been employed with the Iowa State Highway Commission since 1954. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a son, Kip Farthing of Nevada, and a sister, Mrs. Valerie Stauffer, Fisher, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday from Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. M. C. Schupe, pastor of the Nevada Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Nevada cemetery.
