Harriette Ambrose Kinsey
Harriette Ambrose Kinsey, 91, of Nevada died on Sunday morning, December 19 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Visitation preceded the funeral service Wednesday December 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Harriette A. Kinsey was born October 12, 1913 in nevada to Harry and Stella (Glover) Ambrose. She was a 1930 graduate of Nevada High School and married Kenneth W. Kinsey on August 23, 1933 in Nevada. She was a homemaker and life long resident of Nevada.
Her active outside interest and civic organizations include a 70 year membership in PEO-- AM Chapter; a member of First United Methodist Church and participant in the church choir for 25 years; board member of the Nevada Municipal Cemetery for 20 years; honorary member of the Indian Creek Country Club; board member of Mabel Gates Memorial Hall and membership in the Kensington Club, Child Study Club and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed golf sports in general, playing bridge and socializing with her wide circle of friends.
She is survived by one son, K. Bryce Kinsey of rochester, Minnesota; two grandchildren, Laurel Bot and Emily Kinsey, both of Minneapolis; a great grandshild, Riley Daniel Bot; a step sister-in-law, Jennifer Ambrose of McCallsburg and four nephews and nieces.
Harriette is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth of September 27, 1968, a brother Glover Ambrose on July 29, 1994, and a sister Shirley Ambrose Hammond of Charlottesville, Virginia in 2003.
A memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entursted with the arrangements.
