MRS. MARTHA SHEARER

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha (Mat) Shearer were held May 31 at Stevens-Ross Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest E. Coggley, Des Moines, officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.

Mrs. Shearer, daughter of Ellen and Bert Vogt, was born on June 26, 1891 in El Paso, Ill., and died May 27 at the Mary Greeley Hospital. She came to Story County in 1898.

She was married to Willard Shearer on May 16, 1912. They had observed their golden wedding anniversary on May 26.

Mrs. Shearer was a member of Open Bible Church in Cambridge.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Donald of Elk Horn, Neb., and Harold, at home; three daughter, Mrs. Mina Williams, Cambridge, Mrs. Ada Sargent, Jewell, and Mrs. Lucille Furr*, Nevada, and James Vogt, Ames; a sister, Mrs. Della Wommick, Elma, 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
