Jackie Cook, Invalid Lad, Died Here Saturday

Jackie Cook, 18-year-old invalid son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Cook of 407 G avenue, died Saturday afternoon at 3:30.

Funeral rites will be held on Tuesday, with a prayer service at the home at 1:30 and the funeral at the Church of Christ at 2:00 with Rev. C. V. Pence in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Jackie had been an invalid during almost his entire lifetime, having suffered an attack of infantile paralysis at the age of three years. During all of those years he had been confined to the home and under the constant care of the devoted mother and other members of the family.

Born in Nevada October 16, 1919, he died February 26, 1937, being over 18 years of age at the time of death.

He leaves besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cook, a sister, Mrs. Leonard Staker and brothers Max, Kenneth and Junior, Kenneth being a student at Iowa State college and the other boys in Nevada.

Jackie will be mourned by a wide circle of relatives and friends tyo whom he had endeared himself in his crippled and helpless condition.
