Martha Maria Robison
Aug. 5, 1905 to Feb. 15, 1998Martha Maria Robison, 92, of Nevada, died Sunday, Feb. 15, of congestive heart failure at Rolling Green Village in Nevada where she had been a resident for the past five years.
She was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Ames to Charles and Gertrude (Beckwith) VanPatter. She received a B.S. degree in mathematics from Iowa State University in 1928.
She lived in Ames from her birth until the late 1930s. She lived in Nevada for the past 50 years and prior to that, she lived in Ft. Madison in the early 1940s. She married Forest Arthur Robison in 1936 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a life member of the Iowa State Alumni Association. She was a homemaker and Teddy Bear and doll collector.
Survivors include her brother, Charles O. Van Patter of Ames; nieces and nephews; several cousins and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Forest Arthur Robison on Nov. 15, 1973; and three sisters, Florence Thompson in 1982, Lorraine Wendell and Mae Fleetham, both in 1990.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Dr. Fred C. Danforth of First Christian Chruch-Disciples of Christ officiating. Burial was n the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Alzheimer's Association.
